Chief Financial Officer
Paul B. Kemp has served in progressively responsible financial leadership roles within the healthcare industry for 20 years. Paul began his career in public accounting in 1989, and since 1993 has worked for Massachusetts-based companies providing skilled nursing care, assisted living, long-term acute care hospital and hospice services.
Since August 2013, Paul has held the position of Chief Financial Officer for Alliance Health Management Services, the skilled nursing management division of Alliance Health, Inc. In his role as CFO for Alliance Health Management Services, Paul’s responsibilities include oversight of day-to-day cash management, financial forecasting, financial statement and compliance reporting, ongoing communication and relationships with lenders, vendor management, interaction with Federal and State agencies, managed care contracting, and management of finance, accounting, treasury, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and information systems. He is also part of the team that completes due diligence and evaluates additional growth opportunities for the Company.
Between 2000 and late 2012, Paul served as the Chief Financial Officer of Radius Management Services, a Massachusetts-based provider of skilled nursing, assisted living and hospice services. Paul’s experience at Radius included management services provided to both for profit as well as not-for-profit clients. In his role as Chief Financial Officer for Radius, Paul had many of the same responsibilities as under his current role with Alliance. Paul also worked closely with various working capital and senior lenders, landlords and equity partners. During his tenure with Radius, Paul was involved with numerous asset acquisitions, asset divestitures, and other financing transactions, raising in excess of $200M in financing through various debt, equity and working capital structures. These transactions included sale-leasebacks, a large acquisition and financing transaction through HUD, multiple private placements resulting in successful preferred equity and subordinated debt fundraising, and others. Paul was also instrumental in the negotiation of the transactions which resulted in the sale of Radius’ skilled nursing and assisted living facilities to Athena Healthcare Systems in 2011 and 2012.
Prior to joining Radius Management, Mr. Kemp was the Senior Vice President of Finance for the Olympus Healthcare Group, Inc., a for-profit $180 million healthcare company based in Massachusetts. In his capacity as Senior Vice President of Finance, he was responsible for the oversight of all fiscal affairs of the company. In addition, Mr. Kemp was responsible for all finance functions associated with the company’s acquisition and business development activities.
Prior to joining Olympus, Mr. Kemp worked as a Senior Financial Analyst for the Mediplex Group, and was previously an audit supervisor for Coopers & Lybrand in Boston.
Mr. Kemp is a Massachusetts Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.S. in Accounting from Fairfield University.

Tom Lavallee, CNHA, MBA
Chief Operating Officer
Tom Lavallee has worked in the Skilled Nursing Facility profession since 1991 where he began as a social worker. He received his Massachusetts Nursing Home Administrators license in 1994 and immediately started work as an administrator for the Broad Reach Companies. Tom’s multi-facility operations experience began in 2001 for Oakwood Living Centers. As Vice President of Operations, Tom oversaw the day-to-day operations of Oakwood’s five Massachusetts based facilities as well as its Virginia Beach, Virginia, location. Radius Management Services purchased Oakwood (excluding Virginia Beach) in 2004, a transaction that Tom was instrumental in completing. Radius hired Tom and he would remain with them until their acquisition by Athena Healthcare Systems in 2012.
At Radius, Tom served as Vice President of Operations, responsible for the day-to-day operations of select Radius Skilled Nursing Facilities and Assisted Living Communities. Tom’s Radius experiences included opening a new, state-of-the-art skilled nursing facility in Providence, Rhode Island; the development and opening of a boutique Assisted Living Facility on Cape Cod; and oversight for major renovations at several Radius locations in excess of $6 Million.
Tom has worked closely with newly formed accountable care organizations and he has an extensive history of successfully implementing census development strategies. He was instrumental in the development of a hospital-based preferred provider network and regularly collaborates with hospital CEOs and senior leaders.
Currently, Tom serves as Chief Operating Officer for Alliance Health Management Services (AHMS). In his current capacity, Tom oversees the operations at all AHMS managed facilities. This includes, but is not limited to, hiring and managing each facility’s administrator, implementing business development strategies, monitoring operational and capital expenditures, and keeping abreast of industry changes.
Tom earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Worcester State College and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Western New England College. He holds licenses as a Nursing Home Administrator in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island and is Certified as a Nursing Home Administrator by the American College of Healthcare Administrators. Tom is a Board member for the Massachusetts Senior Care Association, and for the Massachusetts Chapter of the American College of Health Care Administrators.

Elaine Hansen, RN
Director of Clinical Services
Elaine Hansen is a highly professional, energetic, and innovative executive with more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Elaine has an in-depth focus on achieving excellent results in highly competitive environments that require continuous quality improvement. The majority of her career has been in the post-acute environment. She is a Registered Nurse, licensed in both Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Elaine’s expertise is in strategic planning, customer service, and clinical project management. She has demonstrated the ability to recruit, motivate, and build cohesive teams while maintaining strong productive working relationships with staff, vendors, and customers served. As Director of Clinical Services for Alliance Health Management Services, Elaine oversees clinical programming, regulatory compliance (Department of Public Health and Joint Commission), QAPI management, and the development and implementation of Nursing Policies and Procedures.
Before joining Alliance, Elaine held the position of Regional Clinical Consultant for Athena Healthcare, where she assisted in supporting the Massachusetts Athena facilities, both Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living. Facilities under her guidance achieved improved clinical outcomes and survey results from the Department of Public Health.
Prior to her role with Athena, Elaine served as Vice President of Clinical Services for Aurora Health Management, where she provided clinical direction, oversight, and support for ten facilities with over 1,400 beds in three states. Under her direction and guidance, there was improvement in the overall number of deficiencies cited, from a total of 131 on previous surveys to a total of 60 combined for all facilities. Along with this decrease, there was also improvement noted in the scope & severity of the areas cited.
Other key positions in Elaine’s career include Regional Clinical Consultant, Director of Nursing Services, & Assistant DNS. Elaine has proven expertise with turnaround facilities and improving clinical outcomes and survey results.
In addition to her proficiency in Long Term Care, Elaine’s clinical background includes working in the Acute Care environment in Critical Care, Telemetry, Oncology and Medical Surgical units.
